stillalive studios is an internationally respected team of about 35 talented developers, focused on technically ambitious simulation, management, and strategy games.

Founded in 2010 in Innsbruck, the growing team has created owned IPs like Drone Swarm and Rescue HQ, as well as works on franchises like Bus Simulator. Five years ago, the studio released the Kickstarter backed action-adventure Son of Nor. stillalive studios is equally embracing gameplay and technological challenges, developing with Unity and Unreal Engine

The kind of stuff you’ll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and test front- and back-end game systems & logic
  • Create clean, maintainable code, while always keeping performance in mind
  • Dig into engine source-code (e.g. UE) to solve complex problems
  • Collaborate with our senior programmers on code architecture and data layout
  • Work on awesome core games for PC and consoles
  • Work with two major game-engines: Unity and Unreal
  • Collaborate with a competent and enthusiastic team of game-devs

Who we’re looking for:

  • You have at least 4-5 years of professional programming experience
  • You know how game-engines work internally and what approaches they use
  • You have good knowledge of either Unity or Unreal
  • You have a solid working knowledge of C++ and C#
  • You know about OOP and are familiar with (code) design patterns
  • You have low-level knowledge and are aware of data locality and DOD (data-oriented design)
  • You have an area of specialization (e.g. rendering, performance, AI, networking, or any other)
  • Solid math knowledge (linear algebra, geometry)
  • You can work self-directed and reliably
  • You like working in a team, solving problems together
  • You have good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing

Nice to have:

  • Your professional work-experience is games industry-related
  • You participated in more than two complete game development cycles
  • You worked with versioning systems like GIT
  • You have experience with F#
  • You have aspirations and experience for a lead role
  • You speak German
  • You have experience with performance optimizations (e.g. parallelization)
