Who are you?

Hi, this is Roman Alexis typing. Software architect, gamer and freakazoid. I build back-ends for video games.

What did you do before joining Chimera Entertainment?

With ten years years of combined games and advertising industry experience in the European and Asian market I'm a hands on full stack engineer and manager of software projects. After working in Germany's games industry for a couple of years, I went to Beijing, China in 2012 to join China's leading developer for First-Person-Shooters on Facebook. As a contributor and speaker in the MongoDB community I became an expert in NoSQL databases. During the last years I led the IT department of my own start-up in Beijing, trying to fix the app discovery problem.

How was your first week at the office?

Following the path of Chimera for the last few years, our roads finally crossed in February 2016. The first week was extremely pleasant, with nice and super helpful colleagues giving me a warm welcome. Rarely I came into a new team which was appreciating a new colleague the way it happened here.

What did you particularly like in your first week?

Still figuring out what exactly my day to day business should be, I had the great opportunity to meet most of the team during the first weeks. Being bombarded with questions and being asked for help and input from day one on just felt amazing.
